Joe is the Chief Executive Office of Kawai Consulting Limited and Managing Partner, J G Associates, Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.
Solid 25 years experience professional in audit, accounting, financial consulting forensic investigations, management consulting, executive outsourcingand training. He has been a long term leader of technical excellence within the profession and in various places of work.
He has practical experience in a wide range of audits across all sizes of enterprise, internal audit, risk management and design of effective reporting for audit teams and responsibility for quality improvement.He has been Regional Head of Audit responsible for technical direction of over 400 audit professionals at PKF in Kenya Uganda and Rwanda.Experience includes board oversight of internal audit in a busy financial institution, Faulu Kenya DTM Limited.
He has lengthy exposure to public policy, development partners, and public sector assignments involving local government. He has also served as a leader in IT administration and has directed implementation of moderately complex to complex IT projects. Has received XBRL Foundation certification.
A popular facilitator at professional events and training seminars in the region, he was previously a partner with PKF Kenya with responsibility as Regional Head of Technical and Training In addition to his audit role. He was also Head of IT. He has also served as senior manager and partner in Deloitte and Githongo& Company respectively.
He was also, until June 2013, the convenor of the Professional Standards Committee for several years and previously the convenor of the Innovations and IT committees.
Joe is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda.
